Transportation

A well-functioning society requires roads that connect us and climate-friendly transport in the form of railways. Today, society has a maintenance debt, especially when it comes to the railways, and there will, therefore, be more investments in developing and maintaining the railway network. At the same time, we also see that the need for investment in ordinary roads is increasing, partly through new investments but also for maintaining existing road infrastructure.

The need for transport infrastructure is also driven by the continued population growth, which, combined with urbanisation, creates a need for new investments and expansion and the emergence of development areas.

Eleda has expertise in maintaining and improving railway infrastructure. In the field of roads, it involves changing roads, restoring land, maintaining bridges, and making repairs and new construction.

Akeab, Mark & Energibyggarna, JVAB, Salboheds, ONE Nordic, Anlegg Øst Entreprenør and Sartor & Drange all offer services in the Transport segment.

The E20 highway outside Vårgårda

Mark & Energibyggarna was appointed general contractor on a project involving the extension of highway E20 with dividers on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). The project took place between January 2021 and June 2023 and included a range of significant tasks. These tasks encompassed the construction of traffic junctions, a new bridge and a utility bridge, in addition to multiple enhancements to existing bridges. The project also involved the construction of pressurised lines, fibre-optic cables, ducting, and rock walls to support the development of this highway infrastructure.
