Transportation Infrastructure

A well-functioning society relies on two key elements: a network of roads that connect us and a sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation system in the form of railways. The growing demand for climate-friendly transportation, particularly via railways, necessitates increased investments in the development and upkeep of railway networks. Simultaneously, we also recognise a rising need for investments in regular road infrastructure, including both new construction projects and the maintenance of existing road networks.
This demand for infrastructure investment is further propelled by ongoing population growth, coupled with the trend of urbanisation, which gives rise to new investment needs and expansion initiatives in emerging development areas.
Akeab, Mark & Energibyggarna, JVAB, Salboheds, Gatu och Väg Väst (GVV), ONE Nordic and Eleda Norge are all actively engaged in offering services within the Transport sector to address these challenges and contribute to the development of a well-connected and sustainable society.

Mark & Energibyggarna was appointed general contractor on a project involving the extension of highway E20 with dividers on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). The project took place between January 2021 and June 2023 and included a range of significant tasks. These tasks encompassed the construction of traffic junctions, a new bridge and a utility bridge, in addition to multiple enhancements to existing bridges. The project also involved the construction of pressurised lines, fibre-optic cables, ducting, and rock walls to support the development of this highway infrastructure.
