Energy transition

The electrification of society, partly due to the climate transition, makes the energy sector a natural growth sector. Significant investments in the electricity grid will be required in the future, both for expansion and for maintaining existing infrastructure. Eleda has operations in electric power distribution, such as maintaining and upgrading the electricity distribution infrastructure.
Ageing networks, new capacity needs, and significant climate initiatives in northern Sweden drive demand in the energy market. Eleda supports producing renewable energy through installing, maintaining, and upgrading hydro and wind turbines.

New consumer needs also drive us to roll out smart energy meters and EV charging stations for electric cars.

Our companies have the best expertise in developing, building, modernising, optimising, and maintaining customers’ facilities. In addition, we work with the industry’s most prominent players, and together, we develop high-tech and sustainable energy systems. Eleda is one of Sweden’s leading suppliers of technical consulting services, contracts, and maintenance in the energy and industrial sectors.

Craftor, ONE Nordic, Akeab, Mark & Energibyggarna and Anlegg Øst Entreprenør offer services in the Energy Transition segment.

Project Notviken – New construction of a 130/40kV transformer station

Craftor undertook the rebuilding of the existing 130kV outdoor switchgear for an associated control facility in Luleå on behalf of Vattenfall. This turnkey contract involved the connection of two new 130/40kV transformers, as well as the installation of a new 40kV switchgear located indoors, including a control system and conversion work. The contract encompasses various tasks such as earthworks, construction of a new station, transformer foundations, control plant, switchgear construction, shaft installation, as well as the installation, testing, and commissioning of 40kV power cables. The project commenced in 2019 and was completed in 2021.

960,000 smart electric meters for the electrical grid of the future

ONE Nordic is in the process of installing and commissioning 960,000 new smart electricity meters for Ellevio. As of now, 100,000 meters have been installed, and the project is expected to be fully implemented in 2023. These advanced meters utilize NB-IoT technology and ONE Nordic’s ONE AMI system (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) to collect measurement data. The use of NB-IoT technology ensures future-ready data collection, enabling electricity network owners to distribute fossil-free energy efficiently and securely. This technology facilitates machine-to-machine communication and presents new possibilities for developing services and solutions for the connected and intelligent energy grid of the future. Overall, the introduction of this new infrastructure will guarantee the reliable and successful collection of measurement data, marking an important milestone in the development of the smart electricity grid, which ensures that Ellevio’s customers consistently receive cost-effective and uninterrupted electricity supply.
