Data and logistics centers, fiber optic networks and more

The accelerating pace of digitalisation is affecting several aspects of infrastructure development. Among other things, the so-called FAANG companies (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google) are building more and more global data centers in the Nordic region. These data centers are enabling these companies to grow in Europe, by satisfying the increasing need for secure data storage and stable data transmission.

There is also solid growth is in logistics centers, driven by the increase in e-commerce, as well as retail, electronics and media.

Fiber-optic cables and networks are another large growth area. This includes connecting households, workplaces and other facilities, the laying of new cable along railways, and network maintenance projects of all sizes.

Among Eleda’s companies, Akeab, Salboheds and Mark & Energibyggarna all have operations in this sector.
